Dear Group 54 members,
We are very happy to invite you to our first online conversation!
For this first online gathering, we will briefly introduce the Group 54 project and then open a conversation around one of the major long-term trends shaping society: population ageing.
We are pleased to welcome Wan Cheng, Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zürich, whose work focuses on population ageing, pension economics, healthcare, labour, fertility, and related policy questions.
Wan Cheng will start by sharing a few key facts and findings from his research. We will then move into an informal discussion on what ageing societies mean in practice: for pension systems, healthcare, work, family life, and younger generations.
The goal is not to make this a formal lecture, but to have a clear and open conversation. We will also discuss what we can realistically think about or do today, both individually and collectively, as these trends continue to shape the decades ahead.
We are looking forward to seeing you there and to an engaging first conversation together !
